There’s nothing better than a cozy cup of hot chocolate on a gloomy, rainy day. This recipe is rich, smooth, and insanely comforting. Perfect for curling up with a book or a good movie. Ready? Let’s make it!
Ingredients (Makes 2 cups):
2 cups whole milk (or your favorite plant-based milk)
3.5 oz dark chocolate (at least 70%), chopped
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp cornstarch (for extra creaminess)
A pinch of salt
Whipped cream (optional, but highly recommended)
Cinnamon or vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
How to Make It:
1. Mix the dry ingredients – In a small saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
2. Add the milk – Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
3. Heat it up – Place the saucepan over low heat and stir constantly until it starts warming up.
4. Melt the chocolate – Add the chopped chocolate and keep stirring until it’s fully melted and smooth.
5. Let it thicken – Keep cooking for a couple of minutes until it reaches your desired consistency. Want it thicker? Let it simmer a little longer!
6. Serve & enjoy – Pour into your favorite mug, top with whipped cream, and maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder.
Sip, relax, and let the rain do its thing.
SECRET TIP
✨My Mom’s Secret Tip: She always added a tiny pinch of chili powder to her hot chocolate. It doesn’t make it spicy, but it deepens the chocolate flavor in the most amazing way. Try it—you won’t regret it!✨
